GENERAL OVERVIEW

Participants will sign up before the show and randomly placed into teams. Each team will have an allotted time to perform. After these sets, an improv jam will take place. For example, the night might look something like this: a warm-up game of speed-freeze followed by 2 teams of 5, with 20 minute sets each, and then a half hour of "open jam" with all performers from the evening.

RULES

Sign Up:

• Performers will sign up to participate for the evening at the venue before the event.
• You must be present to sign up, a friend can not do it for you.
• Sign up period will be from 9:30 pm - 9:45 pm.
  

• The Draft will occur approx at 9:45 pm.
  
• Each team will have a 15 minute period to decide upon a "set list" to fill their time, and a one-night-only name for your team.
• Teams can perform any type of improv, short-form, long-form, open scenes, etc. As long as it's improv, it's good!
  

• Shows will begin at 10:00 pm with a warm-up, followed by the teams going in random order.
• All teams must be in the audience at the beginning of the show to support the fellow improvisers on stage.
• Depending on the amount of performers for the evening, the second half of the show can vary from week to week. It can be open scenes, an experimental long-form, a Steel City Set, a guest group from out of town, etc.
  
• The main goal is to have fun performing with new people!
  

Over time, as the Pittsburgh Improv Jam grows, we may need to change or add guidelines. If you have any more questions, please feel free to make suggestions at the event.
